  2. Ghosts Put up decorations
Create a scary atmosphere by blacking out the windows with sugar paper and covering lights with green Perspex. Scatter about plastic spiders and creepy crawlies.
  3. Put on a scary movie
Hide behind that sofa after renting out some scary DVDs from the video shop!
  4. Create a spooky soundtrack
Send shivers down family members’ spines with a special Halloween playlist. From Thriller to Wuthering Heights, there’s no shortage of spooky chart toppers.
  5. Pumpkin Cut out a pumpkin head
Bit of an obvious one, but fun and effective nonetheless. Make sure you do it safely and always with the help of an adult!
  6. Tell tales
Swot up on local legends and ghost stories before recounting them to your friends and family. Works best with a torch under your chin.
  7. Little Witch Goth up
Get into the spirit of things by dressing in black for the day. Pasty complexion optional.
  8. Fire up the cauldron

  10. Take a holiday to Transylvania
Apparently it’s one of the scariest places on Earth. Not that we’ve been brave enough to go there.
